15 Concerts and Events Coming To Dubai In 2022

The Dubai events calendar will include performances of music, dance, and opera in the upcoming months.

In addition to Kylie Minogue's spectacular New Year's Eve performance, Wizkid, a Nigerian Afro-pop singer, and DJ Tiesto will also take the stage.

Hip-hop star Rapsody is one of the major acts for the upcoming Sole DXB music and arts festival.

The National has rounded together 15 of the best events coming ahead.

1. November 25–27, Dubai Opera presents "The Magic of Rob Lake"

By earning The Merlin Award for International Stage Magician of the Year in 2008, the American illusionist has already attained the top of his art.

In addition to performing in television specials and touring the globe, Lake has worked as a set designer for a number of Broadway productions, including Disney's Beauty and the Beast.



2. The Coca-Cola Arena will host Lewis Capaldi on November 28.

Lewis Capaldi, a Scottish singer, will perform at the Coca-Cola Arena on November 24 to mark his return to the UAE. This is his third performance in the UAE, following appearances at the Yasalam After-Race Concerts at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December 2021 and Sharjah in January 2020.

Expect the big-personality singer, who is known for his massive ballads like Someone You Loved and Before You Go, to break up the heartfelt songs with his signature comic tales.

All ages are welcome to attend; however, the golden circle is only open to those who are at least 21 years old. Tickets are currently available.

3. Sole DXB: Dubai Design District, December 9–11

After a two-year absence, the popular street culture and music festival will resume.

The yearly celebration, which debuted in 2011, has since become one of the most popular festivals in the UAE.

It currently offers a multi-format schedule that includes anything from talks and workshops to shoe exchanges, movie screenings, and musical performances.

Hip-hop artists Rapsody and Freek, as well as British vocalist Jorja Smith, are among this year's headliners.

4. Abida Parveen, performing on December 9 at Coca-Cola Arena

The Pakistani singer is renowned as one of her generation's top ghazal vocalists.

The Icelandic pop artist Bjork is a celebrity fan of Parveen and has called listening to her live "an emotional transformational event." Bjork has called Parveen's voice "beautiful."

5. Hooverphonic at the Dubai Opera on December 10

In Dubai, the established Belgian pop group will perform for the first time in the UAE.

The group's catchy and psychedelic pop songs helped them become popular in Europe and Francophone nations for nearly three decades.

Popular US television programmes CSI, Entourage, and Cold Case have all featured music from the group.

6. Le Trio Joubran will perform at Dubai Opera on December 11th.

Group of Palestinians The biggest performance by Le Trio Joubran, a trio of oud masters, will take place in the United Arab Emirates.

The group is well-known for its complicated compositions, which are often based on some of the finest poets of the Arab world and performed at sold-out concerts throughout Europe and the US.



7. "King Farouk," December 12 at the Dubai Opera

The occasion will feature music and performance vignettes based on the 19th century period during King Farouk's reign in Egypt. It will be a regal celebration of the golden age of classical Arabic music.

The production will feature a number of Egyptian celebrities, such as the actresses Yousra and Sawsan Badr and the singer Najma Abdulla.

8. Dubai Shopping Festival, which runs from December 15 to January 29 at various locations.

The Dubai Shopping Festival offers a variety of performances by local pop singers. 

The six-week festival will feature a tonne of music, shopping discounts, and family-friendly activities.

You only need to look back at the event from the previous year to get a sense of what to expect, with more information to be revealed later in the year.

Egyptian musician Mohamed Hamaki and Emirati-Yemeni singer Balqees Fathi gave performances in Burj Park, Bluewaters Island and Ain Dubai hosted nightly drone shows, and pop-up markets were held in several locales, including Al Seef, Rigga, Al Khawaneej, and Global Village.

9. Dubai Opera will present "The Nutcracker" on December 16 and 17.

This year, The Nutcracker will be performed at Dubai Opera for a brief run, bringing The Sugar Plum Fairy and all of her friends to the UAE.

The two-act ballet by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, performed by Moscow Ballet La Classique, was first presented in 1892 at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Since then, it has developed into one of the most well-known dance performances in the world, presented by several ballet companies all over the globe, especially during the holiday season.

10. Wizkid will perform at Coca-Cola Arena on December 20.

The Nigerian musician, best known for the international singles Essence and Come Closer, will perform at his biggest UAE concert to date.

With 3.4 billion Spotify plays, Wizkid is one of the most streamed Nigerian musicians. He is at the moment getting ready to release the album More Love, Less Ego.

11. Ne-Yo will perform at Coca-Cola Arena on December 21.

Ne-Yo, actual name Shaffer Smith, is a frequent visitor to the UAE and makes a triumphant comeback with a collection of brand-new songs from his most recent album, Self Explanatory.

You may anticipate hearing hits like Let Me Love You and Closer.



12. Terra Solis by Tomorrowland.

The Terra Solis in Dubai offers poolside ambiance. 

One of the largest dance festivals in the world has a new desert location in Dubai through June of the following year.

Poolside rhythms, day-to-night parties, and special activities are all brought to the emirate by Tomorrowland, a Belgian electronic dance festival.

The new retreat, which is solely open to adults, is taking place on a 37-hectare location at Dubai Heritage Vision on Lehbab Road, less than 30 minutes' drive from Burj Khalifa.

13. Kylie Minogue will perform on December 31 at Atlantis, The Palm

After singing at the resort's grand opening celebration in 2008, the Spinning Around singer will make a welcome return.

A Night with the Stars is the subject of this year's gala, and in addition to Kylie Minogue's hit-filled performance, guests will also get front-row seats to one of Dubai's largest fireworks displays when the clock strikes midnight.

Can't Get You Out of My Head, All The Lovers, and The Loco-Motion are just a few of the songs that attendees can anticipate hearing as they get ready to ring in 2023.

14. Jackson Wang will perform at Coca-Cola Arena on February 4th.

As part of his Magic Man world tour, the Chinese singer and member of the K-pop boy band Got7 will visit the emirate.

One of the six dates on the tour is in Dubai, and details about the venue and ticket prices will be released soon.

Wang released Magic Man, his much-anticipated second solo album, in September. It reached at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The singles Blow, Cruel, and Blue are among the album's ten tracks.

15. The Gipsy Kings with Tonino Baliardo: On February 5 at the Dubai Opera 

Bamboleo, the guitarist, singer, and one of the group's founders Gipsy Kings will perform.

Along with well-known and traditional flamenco and rumba musical elements, the French singer will perform hits.

Dubai seems to be in for one long ride of musical performances from some of the most famous performers from around the globe. If you can, I guarantee that you will have a swell time at any one of these slated events.
