For a country that we have come to expect the extraordinary from; it is only normal that we begin to already anticipate the next big thing to come out of that small but amazing city. After defying the odds and making the desert blossom into a much sought after destination in a matter of decades; with world-class infrastructures seemingly popping up everywhere in that once sandy desert area as if conjured up by the Arabian story made famous Djinni in a lamb.
Dubai then went ahead to defy gravity to give us the architectural wonder that is the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building; amidst many other exquisite futuristic structures that adorn the Dubai terrain. Still, Dubai’s city landscape is always changing, always developing and reshaping its skyline from year to year and in spite of the economic crunch of the year 2021; the tempo seems not to be slowing down.
With a plethora of plans and projects in the works; Dubai promises the world a lot more to anticipate and be excited about as they seek to be the outright number one tourists’ destination in a couple of years.
Here are some of Dubai’s next big things to look forward to:
Located on Bluewaters Dubai, this project has generated a huge buzz of excitement since it commenced. Ain Dubai is a giant Ferris wheel, a la The London Eye, but only bigger at a dizzying height of 210-meters, making it the largest of its kind in the world, as should be expected from a city that is fascinated by all things big. And as the pods are being attached and consequently getting closer to the launch date, the excitement level has reached fever pitch as the Ain Dubai will be able to provide riders with a breathtaking panoramic view of Dubai.
Atlantis The Royal
Massive seems to be an understatement when describing this project situated on the Eastern crescent of the Palm Jumeirah. The structure is expected to house a near 800 guest rooms and over 230 serviced apartments, in addition to several restaurants from world-famous chefs including Heston Blumenthal. Truly massive!
Dubai Creek Tower
If you think that the Burj Khalifa is impressive, then you may have an idea of what this architectural wonder is going to be like on completion. This architectural masterpiece is set to once again push the boundaries of engineering and take us even closer to the sky. The Dubai Creek Tower is set to become the world’s largest tower once completed.
Museum of the Future
Museums are ‘a must have’ for any people who value their history and wish to let their oncoming generation and the world know how far they have come. However, Dubai’s Museum of the Future seems to make history about their future and not just their past. If you have been through Sheikh Zayed Road, then chances are your attention may have been arrested by the stunning and imposing building that is Dubai’s Museum of the Future. The museum will be a place for learning and will explore the big issues of our time and explore technological advancements to make it a better future.
